Frequently Asked Questions

Do you offer payment plans on doula fees?

Yes. We want our services to be accessible for as many families as possible. We require a 20% deposit at contract signing, with the remaining balance due before your first postpartum visit. If you have specific questions about financial arrangements, please contact us to discuss your options in greater detail.

Do you accept HSA/FSA payments?

Yes. We always recommend reaching out to your specific account administrator to verify doula services are covered. Once you have the go-ahead, you have the option to either pay with your HSA/FSA card, or with your own funds and receive documents to submit for reimbursement.

Do you ever consider a trade for services?

Yes! We’re very open to discussing partial trades on our services. Some things we’re currently open to trading for: massage therapy, photography, SEO/website assistance, energy work, acupuncture, home improvement/landscaping, and more! Reach out to discuss.

Do you take care of the baby and older kids during postpartum sessions?

The postpartum doula services we offer are unique. Time spent in the home is meant to support you in your healing and in learning how to care for your baby. We do not act as babysitters or nannies. We may help with baby, but always with you in the house, and nearby.

When is the best time to hire a postpartum doula?

Ideally, we’re meeting with each other during pregnancy. This allows time for us to create a postpartum support plan, and have all our ducks in a row before baby gets here. We’ve also had families hire us after baby is here and they realize they need more support. This is great, too!

How long after birth do you provide care, and how often?

Our traditional postpartum support is designed to provide support with acute healing and integration in mind. Generally, sessions are done once a week for the first 5 weeks after birth, though there is so much room for flexibility.

Do you offer any services for people who need healing around birth and postpartum, but their baby/child is older?

We definitely do. We’ve created space for ceremony and ritual for healing and integration of all types of experiences, and at different stages of postpartum life. Sometimes, people like to have a ceremony to close out their childbearing years, or maybe even to process a previous birth before conceiving again. We simply love holding space.
